| Charles Morse (Anthony Hopkins) is a reclusive billionaire that does
not get out much. He is a database of useless information due to
his love of books. His model wife Mickey (Elle Macpherson) convinces
him to go on a photo shoot with her to Alaska. Morse has recently
become suspicious of the relationship between his wife and her photographer
Bob Green (Alec Baldwin). He suspects he is plotting to take her
and his money. When a plane crash strands Morse and Green in the
middle of wilderness, they are on a fight for survival from nature and
each other.
This is the kind of movie I like; It's a fight for survival in the wilderness, but rather than relying on heavy duty machine guns and grenade throwers they need to rely on their wits. One of the thing I didn't like in the Edge was it's all too obvious use of foreshadowing. There were too many times they brought something up and it was obviously going to be used later. For example, when they arrive in Alaska, right away they are warned of the bears, and big suprise, they are running from a bear half the movie. My only other complaint was that Elle was only on the screen for about 10 minutes, and then we only see her breifly at the end. I would have liked to see more of her :) |

George Clooney, Nicole Kidman |
| A nuclear explosion occurs when a passenger train collides with a military
transport train in Russia. Dr. Julia Kelly (Kidman) and Thomas Devoe
(Clooney) don't think it was an accident. They lead a US team to find the
remainder to the nukes that were on the military train. When they
recover all but one of the nukes, they discover that the last one has been
stolen by a man who blames his wife and daughter's deaths on the West and
wants revenge.
The Peacemaker is full of fast paced action, stunts and explosions. Clooney does a good job of playing a soldier who uses any means to get what needs to be done. Cincinnati's own home town boy has been in one good movie after another (yes, Batman WAS good) since Dusk till Dawn.. Will his streak continue?? |

| This was a different kind of movie for me. It wasn't the kind
of movie I usually like, but it was good. L.A. Confidential is a
40's police drama about 3 cops with different styles that clash.
Ed Exley (Guy Pearce) is a young, by-the-book cop, Bud White (Russell Crowe)
is a tough cop who's willing to break the rules and Jack Vincennes (Kevin
Spacey) lives for being a technical advisor for a popular TV cop show.
When a multiple murder has cop involvement the cops clash and the fun follows.
L.A. Confidential is interesting because there is ALOT going on. It's hard to follow all the plots and sub-plots that intertwine. There were many times they referenced something that happened earlier in the movie and I had to think back and remember names and events to put it all together. It was a good movie, you just need to pay close attention to while watching. |

| The Game was an unexpected pleasure. I went in not knowing anything about it, but evidently that was perfect for this movie. Nicholas Van Orton (Michael Douglas) is a financial wizard who is an extreemely wealthy, but unhappy man and is considering following in the footsteps of his dad and leaping to his death on his 48th birthday (the same age as his father at his death). On his birthday his brother Conrad (Sean Penn) gives him a gift certificate to a new company call Consumer Recreation Services (CRS) which specializes in entertainment custom-tailored to each client. Nicholas reluctantly visits CRS and is overwhelmed with forms and test, yet he can not find out what the service they are providing is. We finnaly find out that CRS provides a real life game that never lets the client completely know what is going on. It becomes hard to tell what is real life, and what is part of the game; but that is the point. That's all I can say without giving too much away, but let me say, this movie just screams Total Recall! | |

| Jack Taggart (Steven Seagal) is an EPA investigator sent to a small Kentucky hick town to investigate reported toxic waste dumping. Posing as a Appilatan relief worker, Taggart acts as a carpender doing work for the townspeople and collecting information. From here it just turns into a typical Seagal flick; calm, peacefull guy one minute, knocking people out with one blow the next. That's about all the description this movie deserves. If you've seen one Seagal flick, you've seen them all. | |

| Yes.. it's Conan meets Hercules! That's exactly what this
movie ended up being. If you like the Hercules series, you'll like
Kull. All it's missing is the sidekick, the sound effects and, of
coarse, Raimi's supreme direction.
Kevin Sorbo stars as Kull, a barbarian who want to join a kingdom's army, but becomes king. Those in line for the throne aren't too thrilled about his becoming king, so they bring a 3000 year old queen sorceress (Tia Carrera), back from the dead to get rid of Kull. |
