| We met in Harrison, Oh on Saturday morning to start the trip to Attica. I topped off my gas and and when I stepped up to get back in my Bronco my pants split right up the crotch. This was a sign of things to come. We stopped at a truck stop in Indy and I was going to go into the bathroom and put some duct-tape on my pants. On my way thru the store I saw that they had a rack of jeans for $9.99!! I was saved.
We got to Attica around 10am. We checked in and aired down. They have an articulation ramp behind the office, so I decided to test out my new limited slip in the front. I used my twin-stick and put the front in low and the rear in neutral so the detriot locker wouldn't affect it. I started up the ramp and the LS wasn't locking up. I gave it a little brake to try to get it to lock up and eased on the gas and *BANG*. I broke the driver's side axle u-joint. Jerry Blair of BAR Offroad had a u-joint for it, but I couldn't find any auto shops that could put it in. I drove to 3 different shops in 3 different towns looking for someone to put it in and the only one that could do it wanted $80 and said it would take a couple hours! I decided it wasn't worth it and I gave up. Scott Paulman was kind enough to let me ride along for the day. |
